What's inside

A different box
every week.

Each box holds a handful of snacks baked in our own kitchen that week — the same things we sell over the counter, packed for a lunchbox.

Contents rotate, so nobody gets bored. A typical box has:

Something baked that morningcookies, chunkies, a muffin
A pastry or sweetrotates weekly
A savoury bitefor the lunchbox
A small surprisetheir favourite part

Small batches, real ingredients, made the same week you pick it up — not packed in a warehouse months ago.

The founding rate.

First 20 only
$16 $14 a box, weekly

The first 20 subscribers pay $14 a box for as long as they stay subscribed — not for a trial period. Everyone after that pays $16.

We're capping it at 20 because that's what our kitchen can handle alongside the café. When the spots are gone, they're gone.

Billed weekly through Square. Pause or cancel anytime from any subscription email — no penalty, no phone call.

How it works.

Four steps

Please read this before you subscribe

These boxes are not dairy-free and not gluten-free. They contain wheat and dairy.

We don't use nuts as an ingredient in this box, but our kitchen is not a certified nut-free facility, so we can't guarantee there's no cross-contact.

If your child has a severe allergy, please talk to us before subscribing — come in, or call 226-970-5234. We'd rather have the conversation than have you guess.

Questions.

Before you sign up
How often do I get a box?

Weekly, starting the week of September 7. One box per week, picked up Mondays between 8am and 6pm.

Where and when do I pick it up?

At the café — 49 Talbot Street East, Aylmer. Mondays, 8am to 6pm. Just come to the counter and give your name.

Pickup only — we don't ship or deliver. Not during this pilot, and not to local addresses either.

Why does the checkout ask for my address?

Because Square doesn't offer pickup as an option on subscriptions — shipping is the only fulfilment method their system allows. So the checkout asks for an address even though nothing is ever sent to it.

Nothing is posted, shipped or dropped off. Every box is collected in store, Mondays between 8am and 6pm. Fill the address in and ignore it; it's a quirk of Square's software, not a delivery.

We'd rather explain this up front than have you wait at home for a box that's sitting on our counter.

How do I cancel or pause?

Yourself, anytime. Every subscription email from Square has a Manage subscription link — you can pause, cancel, or update your card from there. You don't need to ask us or wait for us to action it.

Cancel before your next Monday billing and you won't be charged again.

Does the $14 price go up later?

No. Founding subscribers keep $14 a box for as long as the subscription stays active. It's not an introductory rate that reverts.

If you cancel and rejoin later, you'd pay whatever the going rate is then.

What ages is it for?

School-age kids. We're not being precise about a range — it's lunchbox-sized portions of the things kids actually pick up off our counter.

What's your full allergen policy?

The boxes contain wheat and dairy. They are not gluten-free and not dairy-free, and we can't currently make them so.

We don't use nuts as an ingredient in this box. However, our kitchen bakes with nuts for other products and is not a certified nut-free facility, so cross-contact is possible. We won't tell you it's safe for a nut allergy, because we can't verify that.

Ingredients change week to week. If you need to check a specific week's box, ask us — we'll tell you exactly what's in it.

If your child has a severe allergy of any kind, please speak to us before subscribing.

What happens if I'm away one week?

Pause the subscription from the Manage subscription link in any Square email, then resume when you're back. You won't be charged while it's paused.

How do you use my feedback?

Directly. This is a pilot — we're finding out what kids actually eat and what comes home untouched. Tell us at pickup, and it changes what goes in the next box.

What happens after the pilot?

If it works, it carries on and we open more spots. If it doesn't, we'll tell you before your next billing date and cancel your subscription for you — you won't be charged for boxes you don't get.
